Kindergarteners Explore STEM in Ada Twist, Scientist Live

Students go on a musical theatrical adventure highlighting science, engineering, problem-solving skills and teamwork

Student Grant Recipients Total: 54

Estimated Award Amount: $871.13*

This year's kindergarteners will have the opportunity to visit the Edmonds Center for the Arts for a live performance of Ada Twist, Scientist: The Musical, inspired by Andrea Beaty's beloved children’s books. A STARS grant award of approximately $871*, covering tickets and transportation, makes this enriching theater experience possible.

The story follows Ada and her friends as they tackle a field trip gone awry, testing their problem-solving skills and teamwork. With an engaging plot and science-driven themes, the musical brings STEM concepts to life in a fun and imaginative way.

This field trip allows students to enjoy the magic of live theater while exploring science, engineering, and creative problem-solving. Featuring dynamic female characters passionate about STEM, the performance inspires all students—and especially girls—to see themselves as future scientists and engineers, addressing the need for greater diversity in these fields.

*Total award amount is an estimate. Final numbers will not be available until all receipts have been submitted and projects completed.
