Extra Daily Paraeducator Support for 2024-25

STARS funds targeted one-on-one learning support across all classrooms to boost student learning success

Student Grant Recipients Total: 301

Estimated Award Amount: $10,000

This grant provides an extra hour of paraeducator support each school day for the 2024-25 school year, directly benefiting students at Edmonds Elementary. While not every student will receive one-on-one attention, the additional paraeducator presence will enable more focused small-group instruction and personalized support. In reading, paraeducators will assist with literacy activities, helping students improve comprehension, fluency, and phonics skills. Students will also be able to receive one-on-one support in writing, math and other academic areas.

Teachers and administrators will work together to allocate this support based on student assessments and individual needs, ensuring that resources are used effectively. This targeted approach will foster a more inclusive learning environment, boost engagement, and improve academic outcomes across reading and writing.

This extra support hour will improve the overall classroom environment, allowing teachers to address diverse learning needs more effectively.
