5th Graders Participate in Annual Law Day
Students explore local laws, meet community leaders, and learn about safety in this engaging annual event
Student Grant Recipients Total: 35
Estimated Award Amount: $300*
Each year, all 5th grade students in the district are invited to the Snohomish County Courthouse for Law Day, an interactive experience that introduces them to the legal system. Students engage with judges, law enforcement, and community leaders while learning about safety laws, including vehicle regulations for their age group. Classroom instruction follows, reinforcing key legal concepts and encouraging research on state laws. This long-standing event provides valuable insights into civic responsibility and personal safety, fostering a positive connection between students and their local legal community. This valuable experience is made possible with support from STARS, which is funding transportation costs of approximately $300* to ensure all Edmonds Elementary 5th grade students can attend.
*Total award amount is an estimate. Final numbers will not be available until all receipts have been submitted and projects completed.
