Exploring Culture Through Theater at ECA

2nd, 5th and 6th graders experience live theater, learn about Native Hawaiian traditions, resilience, and community

Edmonds Elementary 2nd, 5th, and 6th graders will attend The Pa‘akai We Bring at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, performed by the Honolulu Theatre for Youth. Through storytelling, hula, live music, and audience participation, this engaging play explores the deep cultural significance of pa‘akai (salt) in Native Hawaiian traditions. Students will experience the magic of live theater while connecting with themes of history, culture, and social-emotional learning. Thanks to a STARS grant, tickets are fully funded for all 2nd grade students, teachers, and chaperones at $560*, with an additional $355* supporting 5th and 6th grade students and teachers—ensuring access to this enriching educational experience.
